I attended the all-candidates meeting organized by the Gibsons Chamber of Commerce last Thursday (Oct. 30) at the Community Centre.
It was an awesome display of community involvement — literally standing room only. The most impressive part of the meeting was the overall impression that we are blessed with 10 highly qualified and motivated candidates for office in our small town. That we can attract the quality of people who want to dedicate their time and talent to governing our little slice of heaven is both gratifying and encouraging.
Yes, there are lots of challenges ahead, but wow, do we ever have a slate of amazing people to handle these. Kudos to all these folks — our neighbours — for stepping up to the challenge and putting their name on the ballot. The choices available are simply amazing.
Let’s now do our part by getting out and voting. Great job, Gibsons Chamber, for organizing this wonderful assembly of candidates.
