Not a smart idea

For 10 years my husband and I have lived in our house and we have had a BC Hydro bill that came every two months among others. It was usually the lowest out of any from $70, to once in a while, $115. A very nice bill we never worried about.

About five months ago I opened our BC Hydro bill and it was $235. I started getting upset and angry not knowing why our bill was so high. I learned that the beginning of this bill time we had a smart meter put on our house.

I spoke to BC Hydro and they stated how it's because we are using more power, we are using three times more power than we have in any of the 10 years living here. So I went around taking out light bulbs, and unplugging many things. I waited for the next bill and it was $200. Now we are living with no lights, no heat, only using what is absolutely necessary, and not sure what our next bill will be.

We've joined a group and spoken to many people regarding the smart meter issue and eight out of 10 stories are how people's bills have jumped since the smart meter was put on

I listen to the stories BC Hydro has given them, and it's amazing what BC Hydro is staying.

No matter how much we fight BC Hydro, they will not admit to their mistake.

They will not remove what they installed on our home without our permission.

BC Hydro has run over every B.C. citizens' right, and they won't stop.

When are we going to have the right to refuse a billion dollar company's 'smart' idea?
