More bike lanes says seasonal resident

We have a seasonal home in Gibsons. Last week we brought our bikes with us, looking forward to riding in the area, but there are very few roads with shoulders that are safe to ride on. We couldn't ride to Sechelt because the bike lane on Highway 101 ended north of Gibsons and a one-foot paved shoulder was not our idea of riding safely on a highway with blind curves.

To make Gibsons attractive to cyclists, more bike lanes must be put in on the main roads. Also I would like to see a concerted effort to complete the Sunshine Coast Trail coming down from Earl's Cove to Langdale. With a convenient connection with the ferry, that would bring a great number of avid cyclists to the Sunshine Coast as tourists.

We are developing a love for Gibsons, especially the people, and on the weekends the music in the parks. Thanks to those who plan these events.
