Mayor's job is a tough one

Being democratic does not give one the right to yell, be obnoxious, disrespectful and otherwise demeaning to another person's reputation. The position of mayor is a challenging one at any time. Certainly we have a fair number of naysayers to most anything new here in Sechelt. Not that I supported the mayor in the last election, but I do now.

He has tastefully dealt with small-minded individuals (note the stickers applied to light posts around town) who would see zero development or progress that just might help Sechelt become an exciting centre for visitors to spend time and money, possibly even creating an environment where our children would want to live and have employment to support them.

It is really easy to shoot negatives, partake in derogatory side talk and lack any positive insight as to the solutions that might move the District of Sechelt in a forward motion together.

Mayor Henderson is obviously capable of working under this style of constant criticism, knowing full well the majority of Sechelt residents are supportive of a new and creative direction.
