Further to my letter in Coast Reporter, Oct. 8, I have learned the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure will install traffic lights at the intersection of Reed and North roads in Gibsons, according to a recent conversation with area manager Don Legault.
That's the good news. The not-so-good news is the ministry depends on priorities and obtaining funding for the installation.
I've got an idea: if the folks in Davis Bay don't want anybody messing with their beautiful beach walk and road - and I can't blame them - how about taking the funds that are earmarked for that project and using them for the Reed/North roads project? That would make everybody happy.
