While the Gibsons swimming community is thankful for the promised reopening, we are perplexed by the continued handwringing about the cost and staffing (“Directors OK ‘accelerated restart’ of Gibsons pool,” Nov. 20). We offer two remedies:
1. Cost: Calculate the monthly cost of operating the pool. Multiply this by the number of months the pool has remained closed. This is what the SCRD has saved and what it owes the Gibsons community.
2. Staffing: Return and redeploy Gibsons staff that were temporarily reassigned to Sechelt.
Done. Why is this so complicated?
