Last week letter writer Anne Carr stated that an “outdated” version of the national anthem was printed in this paper because it contained the words “all thy sons command.” It is not an outdated version, it is the song as it was written, the way we know it and will continue to sing it. The new version, which says “in all of us command,” not only sounds stupid but the sentence itself doesn’t even make sense grammatically. Is NOTHING exempt from political correctness?
