Re: “SC COVID Task Force doctors honoured as unsung heroes,” Dec. 25.
Congratulations to the four physicians of the Sunshine Coast COVID Task Force who received coins from the BC College of Family Physicians recognizing their excellence in relation to the COVID virus.
There was one glaring omission from the list of recipients: Dr. Brian Nelson, understandable since he is a specialist rather than a family physician. However, he deserves to be equally recognized with his four compatriots for his outstanding contributions and service in relation to COVID, which were the same as the other members.
We strongly recommend that the two municipal councils in Sechelt and Gibsons and the SCRD board use their vision and recognize Dr. Nelson formally and officially for his excellence. In doing so, they should extend their recognition to the other members of the task force.
