Eyesores of kindness

Letters

Editor:

On my walk this morning I passed an assortment of bus stop seating that included six broken plastic chairs and a twisted-up metal folding chair. On other recent occasions I have come across splintered dining room chairs and even an upholstered armchair. Who do people think are going to take these chairs away when they become vandalized or weathered? What may have started out as a charming idea has become an eyesore and a lazy way for people to dispose of unwanted furniture. If you desperately feel the need to provide bus stop seating for your neighbours, please take responsibility for removing it when it is no longer usable.
