Letters: Water requires pushing the envelope

'No doubt there will be bureaucratic inertia at all levels (just as there has been for the last 30 years) but John has come up with some concrete proposals and a way forward.'

Editor:

Finally we have a Sechelt mayor with the initiative and gumption to try to get something done about our water situation. Well done, John Henderson.

As he says; we don’t need studies, surveys or approvals, we need water

Perhaps some of his ideas will be viewed as “pushing the envelope” but that is just what we need.

The current status quo must be swept aside.

No doubt there will be bureaucratic inertia at all levels (just as there has been for the last 30 years) but John has come up with some concrete proposals and a way forward.

Let’s hope that he can drag the Sechelt council and the SCRD board along with him and stir them into action, along with the provincial ministry.

This is an emergency and procedural niceties just get in the way.

We need to give John all the help and support that we can.
