I attended the public meeting on March 30, 2023 that was held by the Storehurst developer at the Gibsons Public Market. I am unhappy that the Town is going to sell a piece of public land to this developer. There has not been enough or adequate public consultation concerning the giveaway of this piece of public property. To date, the Town has only made this proposal public via a questionnaire with “leading” questions that was published on the Town website in August of 2020, a time when many citizens are away on holiday. We expect more from a mayor who, having cut out inquiries at the regular council meetings, promised public dialogue.
