Letters: I’m not the only dreamer

'At what point will we finally be willing, as a society to make the changes in our lifestyles? Could we drive a smaller car or eat less meat or bring our own bag to the grocery store?'

Editor:

We note that our province, our country and worldwide, there are fires, more extreme because of man-caused global warming. We see extreme storms and floods. We tell sad tales of losing homes and loved ones but we don’t seem to be putting cause and effect together. At what point will we admit that we are collectively causing this suffering. At what point will we finally be willing, as a society to make the changes in our lifestyles? Could we drive a smaller car or eat less meat or bring our own bag to the grocery store? Could we get behind bicycle-safe roads or Universal Guaranteed Income or free post graduate education for the trades as well as academics. We could demand our government get out of fossil fuels and support wind, water and solar energy. As John Lennon said “They say I’m just a dreamer. I’m not the only one”
