Letters: Fund alternatives

If you think oil is expensive now, wait until the world is drowning and burning and people are pushing North from the unsurvivable South. It will be much cheaper to deal with things now. Suing the oil companies is about making them help finance alternatives from their vast profits.

Using oil now, does not make us complicit or hypocritical. Most of our vehicles and machines are built to use oil (though, here in BC we have hydro for electricity as an alternative to LNG and oil).

This is not a game of got-you. As pointed out by Michael Healy, the stakes are too high.

Life as we know it, on this our only planet, is at stake. Like an addict, we have to admit we have a problem, and we have to be willing to do something (even if painful) about it.
