Letter S hardly unique

Editor. With regard to the proposed big “S” logo for community branding, may I respectfully point out that there must be, at the least, 30 place names in British Columbia, and especially the Lower Mainland, that begin with the letter “S.

With regard to the proposed big “S” logo for community branding, may I respectfully point out that there must be, at the least, 30 place names in British Columbia, and especially the Lower Mainland, that begin with the letter “S.” So how can the proposed logo be distinctive to our community?

Surely, if the council wish to adopt any change to the existing logo, there should first be an opportunity for input from the community as a whole, then respect the wishes of the majority.

Isn’t that how democracy should work in our society?
