Re. Coopers Green Management Plan and Proposed Hall Connor Park.
It is difficult to understand how the SCRD continues to blatantly ignore the wishes of the majority of Halfmoon Bay citizens and the Coast wide survey, which indicated 64 per cent voted in favour of a new hall to be constructed at Coopers Green Park.
An information open house was held at Halfmoon Bay Community School. The results were overwhelming to keep the hall in Coopers Green Park, as set out in the Park Management Plan. Again ignored.
Ten years of fund raising. Again ignored.
Memorandum of understanding. Again ignored.
Many citizens do not want a hall built at Connor Park, which will simply duplicate what is available at the school. Again ignored.
No mitigation took place for issues that arose. What would be wrong with the SE corner of the Coopers Green park? Again ignored.
Connor Park proposal will require going back to the drawing board with more costs involved. This is not necessary when plans and studies already been done for Coopers Green. What a waste!
It is not too late to reconsider this ill-conceived hasty decision.
Sincerely,
Eleanor and George Lenz
