Lower Gibsons gets its water supply from an aquifer. There is enough water for 10,000 people, even under extreme conditions, according to the George Hotel information centre. When I asked about this at Gibsons Municipal Hall, it was explained to me that everyone was under the same restrictions to make it fair. But from Pender Harbour to Egmont, and within the SCRD, they also have different water sources and are on Stage 1. I could get water from a free-flowing water supply that is situated in Lower Gibsons that comes from the aquifer, but I am not allowed to use my own water from the aquifer for my vegetable garden.
