Hoping for a compromise

LETTERS

Editor:

I’m a big admirer of those two remaining special trees by the Gibsons post office.

I earnestly believe some way can be found to keep the one by the parking lot somehow. They are magnificent, strong, large, precious and rare heritage sentinels in the town landscape.

Looking at the concerns about the heaving pavement is necessary, I see, and an interesting issue for an ingenious solution. Surely competent and creative engineers or other experts, seeing the high value of preserving these historic beauties, can address the parking, safety and logistical issues?

Innovative cost analysis and provision can be found for a unique and special situation such as this.

We are fortunate to have these wonderful trees gracing our community. I admire them always as I pass by.

Thank you for anyone’s efforts, guardianship and assistance in bringing this situation to this community’s awareness — much appreciated.

I’m sure there is a workable solution for overcoming any human difficulties in keeping these majestic, old and strong trees for many more years of life, safely, for everyone’s awe and enjoyment.
