We are very impressed that teachers and students are getting involved with our system of electing governments - long overdue. There is so much involved with our democratic system and, of course, all our students will be voting in the not too far future. Having some knowledge of what is involved will give them the incentive to vote. So many who have the right to vote don't take the time to do it.

In the same date of paper but on a different topic were students working on cars for the coming drag racing event. Kudos to Sunshine Coast Drag Racing Association and Dave Marshall from the same organization for implementing this program. Hats off also to science teacher Alison Liddicoat for helping out and the mechanic from the school district, Justin Henderson. Well done, all of you, to take the time, patience and guidance to help this group of students.
