Kit Artus wrote a very compelling letter about the children’s banner project (Coast Reporter, Jan. 2).
The banners have traditionally been hung on Cowrie Street and Wharf Avenue. They are now relegated to the parking lot of the Aquatic Centre.
Children of our community create the designs on paper, and the images are painstakingly hand painted onto large banners by adult volunteers. A lot of time, effort and creativity is put into this unique and worthwhile project.
We also request that the new batch of banners be hung on Cowrie and Wharf!
