Fire support was amazing

On Aug. 20, our weekend cottage at Carlson Point, Porpoise Bay burned to the ground. If it wasn't for the extreme diligence and hard work of the Sechelt fire department, who prevented the fire from reaching the cabins on either side of us, and the forest, it would have been an even greater tragedy. Mere wordscannot thank them enough for their efforts in saving our neighbours cabins, pumping water from the bay, tirelessly working the ground tocontain the spread and staying overnight to prevent hotspots and flareups. Their kindness and empathy toward us as the owners was also heart warming and comforting at our worst possible moments as the day wore on and we watched from nearby.

Also the BC Forest Service fire fighting crew who attended with water buckets and helicopters to augment the fire departments efforts.
