At the May 3 "Breakfast with the Mayor," Sechelt Mayor John Henderson was quoted as saying "there is negativity in a small group and it dominates the community and it becomes bullying," (Coast Reporter, May 10).
In other words, to the mayor, opposition equals negativity equals bullying. Remember the FABS group during the last municipal election? Is it any different, or is the mayor not seeing the parallel? It seems the mayor has yet to grasp the right of free speech and dissent in a democratic society even when it doesn't agree with his point of view. He is elected to consider and represent all views, even those who voted against him.
