Editor:

I am deeply disappointed that the editor of such a good community newspaper would write and publish an editorial (Coast Reporter, April 16) criticizing the actions of the Gibsons Seniors Society and its executive without any consultation with a member of the executive and without reference to the constitution, bylaws and policy guideline for the use of Harmony Hall.

The decisions of the executive, ratified not once but three times by the general membership, were based on the bylaws and policy guideline. The editorial was written based upon information provided by a small group of dissident members who are not prepared to accept the will of the majority.

By the written statement of Graham Wray, the decisions of the executive were upheld by "an overwhelming majority of the members." The Gibsons Seniors Society is governed by a vote by the majority of our members, not by the wishes of a few dissidents.

That, Mr. Jacques, is what this is all about.
