Daniel’s gift of songs

Dear Family and Friends:

It takes a village to raise a child.

We would like to thank you, our extended family and community, for your support and life-long encouragement for our son and brother Daniel. One of his songs, “Forgive Me If I Fall,” speaks volumes: “... the gates of fate are set in stone, they’ve locked and left me all alone, life has shook me to the bone, and truth appears surreal. In this climb forgive me if I fall. I struggle with the miracle of it all, and in this life, know that I have tried. Remember me if God forbid I die, and if I do, then darlin’ please, I’m on my knees, don’t sell your soul to sorrow. It’s not for you, don’t go that way. And when you’re down, know that there will be a tomorrow, and we will meet again one day.”

His songs are a gift as we struggle ourselves between the immensities of birth and death and our own anxiety of knowing we are out of control dealing with the reality of our times ... the shadow.

In his love for you he has fallen on the epic battlefield of life where the forces of light and darkness reign. Daniel shot many arrows of intention from his quiver of possibility. We have never known a man who could shoot so high. He had a life well lived and a supportive, loving community that allowed him to follow his passion, and give himself fully. He did not think he was doing the doing but rather saw himself as a vessel for the Divine to come through. He let go of the fruits of all his actions, of where his arrows would land, and in that, he showed us the best of who we are as a community.
