Editor:
First I would like to thank Christine Wood for the article on the Goldenhawk and the Coast Reporter for its timely appearance. It is one of the best written about the project. Well done. Special thanks also to the RCMP for their contribution to the day.
Neither the Sechelt Legion nor the newspaper deserves the criticism of Bruce Kiloh (Coast Reporter letters, Nov. 28). I would hope he has a better promotion for the veterans next year and not just a need to be a detractor of those who work hard to assist the Legions of our country through these changing times.
I would like to thank the nine volunteer crew of the Goldenhawk Streamliner, who gave their time and travel expense, plus loss of earnings, travelling to Sechelt. There are six who live on the Sunshine Coast, three from the Lower Mainland and one who travelled from Mackenzie.
I am proud of this country, our heritage and our veterans.
R.W. Pierce, driver of the Goldenhawk
