Creek Park needs attention

The condition of Roberts Creek Provincial Picnic Park has deteriorated so much that it is practically unusable. Visitors to this little park will find that the picnic tables are surrounded by a stagnant black-water swamp. Also, coming down the driveway they will be hard pressed to avoid the extremely deep and hazardous washed-out ruts. In addition, they will have to climb over several huge logs to get access to the beach.

This is an embarrassment to the community.

Yet, when I contacted BC Parks about it, they informed me they have no plans to repair and service the park at this time. I would urge that they reconsider this decision and make the maintenance of this little park an urgent priority.

The tourist season will start in a few weeks, and with all the magnificent beach spots we have in Roberts Creek, I would hate to think that this is the impression some visitors to our community will be left with.
