Thank you for the recent story on our daughter, Melissa Finch, currently fighting lymphoma (“Family is raising funds,” Sept. 17). Our one-day fundraiser at Simpson Health Centre on Sept. 29 raised over $2,600 for the Canadian Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We are thrilled to raise such an amazing amount of money to support finding a cure and bringing awareness to blood cancers.
The best part of your story was the friends who have reconnected with our daughter and provided endless hours of support, meals, gifts and encouragement. We live in a community that reached out to help us by donating so generously and showing love to our family. For that, we are truly thankful.
