Are we still water challenged?

I notice in the Nov. 27 issue of Coast Reporter that priorities for the SCRD include “attracting business investment” and “new resident attraction.” To further these goals, I suggest that the large signs on Highway 101 declaring the Sunshine Coast a water challenged (in a rain forest) community be removed.

That is, unless the SCRD is not planning to complete the infrastructure required to access more water for next summer and believes we may once again be subjected to Stage 2, 3 and 4 water restrictions.

I further suggest that the SCRD bulletin in Coast Reporter update Coast residents at least monthly on the progress, including an estimated completion date of this critical project.
