Editor:
Last November you did an article in the Coast Reporter about me and my parents entitled “Fundraising to help Isabella.”
In late October, I was diagnosed with stage four cancer called neuroblastoma. This is an update to let everyone know how I am doing. I completed four rounds of chemotherapy before my surgery and one round afterwards. Ninety-five per cent of the cancer was removed when the doctors at Children’s Hospital in Vancouver took out the 11 by nine centimetre tumor. The last five per cent was in the bone.
I would like to thank all the people who are supporting me with well wishes, financial support and especially with their prayers. It was probably the prayers that made it possible for me to go to Sesame Street Live. My parents were getting ready to give the tickets away when in the last hours before the show began the doctors gave me permission to go. I had so much fun and even got to sit on Elmo’s knees.
Since I have required many blood transfusions, if anyone who wishes to donate blood in my name, Isabella’s Angels, ID number ISAB857579, they can contact the Canadian Blood Services on Oak Street in Vancouver.
There has also been a fund set up at GoFundMe — just type in Isabella’s Journey, as I still have four to six more months of treatments.
Thank you again for helping me through this journey.
