An olive branch?

Editor: When Mr. Fassbender said he wanted to put out an olive branch that asks: “Will you please negotiate at the table with us?” it was clear to me that he, Premier Clark and talking head Mr. Cameron were confused and misguided.

Obviously a seasoned gardener knows that an olive branch with no leaves, no olives and thin, undernourished, scratchy twigs cannot flourish and rejuvenate if it is to be fed by stone soup and malarkey.

The current so called olive branches offered to B.C.’s school boards for education budgets and to the BC Teachers Federation re collective bargaining won’t support quality public schools, won’t meet the needs of our communities and the economy and won’t fulfill our basic expectations for our children.

Enough is enough! As community members, we will show our support for the teachers and for public education.
