Dear Justin:
I hope the renovation of 24 Sussex Drive will be carried out by two Canadian experts: Mike Holmes and Bryan Baeumler. All of us citizens should be able to watch this national treasure restored to glory in a weekly show on CBC television.
Think of the advantages.
Through sponsorship, taxpayers will save millions of dollars.
Using only products made in Canada will promote Canadian building materials.
Contractors and sub-contractors must have apprentices on the job, thereby showing how the new government supports jobs for young people.
Millions will tune in every week to a show, perhaps hosted by a popular CBC personality, about progress at the prime minister’s residence, thereby engaging Canadians in their national heritage.
Holmes and Baeumler are old hands at carrying a television show. And they are enthusiastic about the idea!
Sales of “Sussex Drive kitchens” or “Trudeau bathrooms” will soar – a great boost for the economy.
A note of caution: For security reasons, information about the location of the rooms should not be shown, and neither should work on security systems.
Instead, we could see you, Sophie and the children inspecting the progress.
Or, if the show is set up for a grand finale, we could share your surprise and elation in the last episode.
It would make us all so proud.
