Kudos to Coast Reporter for your editorial re the Bill C-51 protests (Coast Reporter, March 20).
The public has difficulty understanding the ramifications of this bill currently in committee stage in parliament. It is essential that the government lay out clearly the necessary oversight procedures for the agencies whose powers are enhanced (RCMP, CSIS).
For the government to equate those who make these demands as being soft on terror is an insult to Canadians. Your editorial is a welcome voice in this important discussion.
