West Vancouver Police have impounded more than 16,000 vehicles for excessive speeding, over a period of 28 months. After reading that news, I thought it would be a great idea to go after drivers on the Sunshine Coast who execute rolling stops at stop signs.
To me, a rolling stop means not stopping when legally required to do so. One can go almost anywhere on the Coast where stop signs are erected, to see drivers of trucks, buses, passenger cars, taxis, motorcycles and even bicycle riders ignoring those signs.
After more thought, if the RCMP were to initiate such a project, it is very unlikely they would be able to find an area large enough on the Coast to handle all the impounded vehicles.
