No one was injured, but a 2007 Ford F150 was completely destroyed when it burst into flames on Highway 101 near Browning Road on Oct. 9.

The incident happened around 3:45 p.m. and Sunshine Coast RCMP said the driver, the lone occupant of the truck, was able to get out and call the fire department.

Highway 101 was briefly shut down, before being opened to alternating traffic, and there was a serious backup that went as far as the Selma Park hill on the Sechelt side, which lasted around an hour.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
