BC Ferries says the Queen of Surrey is repaired and ready to resume sailings on the Langdale-Horseshoe Bay run.

The Surrey has been out of service since a March 26 accident that left travellers stranded on board for more than 10 hours.

Deborah Marshall of BC Ferries said in an email to Coast Reporter that teams at Seaspan’s Vancouver Drydock facility in North Vancouver fixed the damaged hull and steel plating on the rudder as well as rebuilding the nose at the end of the lower car deck.

The cost of the repairs is still being finalized.

The Queen of Surrey returned to Langdale terminal April 23 and will resume service on Saturday.

The investigation into what caused the ship to crash into the Stormaway dock while coming into Berth 1 at Langdale last month is still underway.
