To help everyone enjoy New Year’s Eve festivities safely, the Sunshine Coast Regional District and BC Transit will be offering extra trips and free service after 7 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, Monday, Dec. 31.

The free evening service will apply on routes 1 Sechelt-Gibsons/Langdale Ferry, and 90 Sechelt-Gibsons/Langdale Ferry Express, and will help New Year’s Eve celebrators get home safely.

Transit users on the Sunshine Coast should also be aware that the following holiday schedule will be in effect between Monday, Dec. 24, and Tuesday, Jan. 1:

Dec. 24, regular service. Dec. 25 and 26, Sunday-level service. Dec. 27 to 29, regular service. Dec. 30, regular Sunday service. Dec. 31, regular service with extended free evening service after 7 p.m. Jan. 1, Sunday-level service.
