Sunshine Coast RCMP reported the following for Sept. 12 to 20. Single-Vehicle Collision • On Sunday, Sept. 16, at 10:55 p.m., Sunshine Coast RCMP responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision in the 1200 block of Gower Point Road, in Gibsons.

Sunshine Coast RCMP reported the following for Sept. 12 to 20.

Single-Vehicle Collision

• On Sunday, Sept. 16, at 10:55 p.m., Sunshine Coast RCMP responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision in the 1200 block of Gower Point Road, in Gibsons. BC Ambulance Service and Gibsons Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the call. The vehicle had gone off road and down an embankment. Three occupants in the vehicle were transported to Sechelt Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor and the matter is still under investigation.

Break and Enters, Thefts

• Overnight on Sept. 12, a suspect broke a lock off of a shipping container stored at a business in the 5500 block of Inlet Avenue, Sechelt. Staff are still trying to determine if anything was stolen from inside, but no other damage was reported. 

• Overnight on Sept. 18, a suspect gained access to a storage yard in the 900 block of Gibsons Way, Gibsons, by cutting through a fence, and stole a 40-litre propane tank. 

Found Property

• On Sept. 12, a cell phone found on a Sunshine Coast transit bus was turned in. The owner may claim within 90 days with a detailed description, reference police file 2018-6501

Fraud

• On Sept. 18, a Coast resident reported a fraud after discovering a large sum of money had been transferred from his bank account via e-transfers. The resident advised he also received a strange call from a male purporting to be a pharmacist in the Lower Mainland advising that his prescription was ready. When the resident told the caller that he had no such prescription, the caller asked the resident to clarify his date of birth and middle initial. The file is still under investigation. Impaired Drivers

• On Sept. 18, police attended a two-vehicle incident at the intersection of Fawn Road and Hart Road, Halfmoon Bay, where witnesses reported one of the drivers appeared intoxicated. Police noted the suspect driver exhibiting signs of intoxication and arrested her for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The driver was taken to the detachment where she provided breath samples. After two positive results, the driver was issued a 24-hour driving prohibition, an administrative driving prohibition, and a promise to appear for court. The file is still under investigation.

• On Sept. 20, police attended a single-vehicle incident in the 2200 block of Highway 101, Roberts Creek, after a vehicle rolled on a corner and went into the ditch. The driver and lone occupant was able to exit the vehicle on his own and advised police that he had consumed alcohol prior to driving. The driver was given a roadside alcohol screening test and after two fail results, was issued a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition and had his vehicle impounded for 30 days.
