RCMP looking for tips on stolen trailer

Sunshine Coast RCMP are hoping for the public’s help as they search for a trailer loaded with thousands of dollars of equipment that was stolen from a construction firm on Nov. 12.

Sunshine Coast RCMP are hoping for the public’s help as they search for a trailer loaded with thousands of dollars of equipment that was stolen from a construction firm on Nov. 12.

RCMP said in a release that the trailer was stolen during a major break and enter at the Maycon Construction yard at 1050 Keith Road in Gibsons.

The break-in happened around 1:45 a.m. and RCMP say two suspects entered the secured site and stayed until about 4:45 a.m., loading up the trailer with approximately $100,000 worth of tools and construction equipment.

The suspects then hitched the trailer to a vehicle at the site and towed it down the road.

According to RCMP the pair then switched the trailer onto an awaiting pickup before abandoning the stolen truck at the side of the road.

The trailer is a black Blazer brand with the B.C. licence plate 61610D.

RCMP are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or has information about the theft to call the detachment at 604-885-2266 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477 and refer to file number 18-7894.
