International Women's Day

International Women's Day was celebrated at the annual event in Roberts Creek on March 8, hosted by Sunshine Coast Labour Council. Alice Lutes served as MC, Dionne Paul opened with a welcome song, and Lynn Chapman sang the iconic song Bread and Roses, which has become the anthem for International Women's Day worldwide. Keynote speaker Denise Woodley addressed the theme of speaking truth to power. Guests enjoyed a potluck dinner and entertainment from Sokole, Coast String Fiddlers and a drumming group led by Terry Aleck.
