A former Sunshine Coast RCMP officer, now with the Revelstoke detachment, passed away Monday after experiencing a stroke Saturday while visiting family in Sechelt.

“It is with great sadness that the Revelstoke RCMP must advise the community that Sgt. Kim Hall passed away after a brief medical emergency,” said Revelstoke RCMP Staff Sgt. Kurt Grabinsky in a media release.

Grabinsky said Hall was taken to Vancouver General Hospital and put on life support, but did not recover.

“Family was present and at her side when she passed,” said Grabinsky. “She will be sadly missed.”

According to Sunshine Coast RCMP, Hall worked at the Coast detachment between 2001 and 2005.

A native of Kilarney, Man., Hall’s first post was in Terrace in 1990. She also worked in Chilliwack, the Boundary area and the Sea-to-Sky detachment. She joined the Revelstoke detachment in 2011.

Grabinsky said plans are still being made to hold a memorial service for the detachment.
