Announcement at West Sechelt Elementary School

Education Minister Rob Fleming is expected to be on the Sunshine Coast Monday morning for an announcement  “about supporting students in Sechelt,” according to an invitation from the B.C. government.

The announcement is scheduled for 9:30 at West Sechelt Elementary School, an overcrowded school relying on several portables to accommodate students. In April 2018, the province had asked the district to provide a more detailed proposal for an expansion project that would see up to six classrooms added.

The announcement had originally been planned for Nov. 15.
