TORONTO — The Canadian Premier League has confirmed its playoff format for late November.
The top team in the regular-season standings will play No. 4 while No. 2 meets No. 3 in one-game playoffs Nov. 20 or 21. The two winners will then meet Nov. 27 or 28 to decide the title.
The teams with the higher place in the standings will serve as host.
"Our focus was to deliver a full season with great competitive play throughout for our players, coaches, fans and supporters and with playoff spots still up for grabs, to this point, we have done that,” commissioner David Clanachan said in a statement. “Not only will some of our clubs be playing in some of the biggest matches in North American football over the next two months but all of our CPL clubs continue to push for the playoffs as our 2021 final draws nearer."
