ABERDEEN, United Kingdom — So far so good for Felix Asselin's Canadian crew at the 34-team World Mixed Curling Championship in Scotland.

Asselin, with vice-skip Laurie St-Georges, second Emile Asselin and lead Emily Riley, defeated Finland 10-1 and Chinese Taipei 8-3 in Group B round robin action on Saturday.

Canada jumped on Finland early, scoring three in the first end, two more in the third, four in the fourth and one in the fifth. Finland scored its lone point in the sixth end and the teams shook hands after that.

Against Chinese Taipei, Canada scored one in the first end, two in the second, three in the fifth, and two more in the seventh end. Chinese Taipei scored twice in the third end, and counted a single in the sixth.

Canada and Slovenia lead Group B with 2-0 records, while Poland is 1-1 and New Zealand is 1-0. Australia, Hungary, Lithuania and Chinese Taipei are all 0-1.

The championships run until Oct. 21. Canada is the defending champion.
