Mariko Hatanaka, 10, Emma Kingsley, 11, Jayden Stark, 12, and Alexa Ingram, 17, competed in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Vancouver a couple of weeks ago.
This was Kingsley, Stark and Ingram’s first competition.
“As their coach I was very proud of these young ladies for all the hard work they put in and thought they represented the Sunshine Coast well,” says coach Sean Hatanaka. “It was more about the personal growth and challenges they tackled than the medals.”
