One adult and eight youth skaters from the Sunshine Coast Skating Club braved the inclement weather on the Coquihalla last weekend to travel to Kelowna for the Provincial Super Series STARSkate Final March 2 to 4. It was another extremely successful skating competition for the SCSC skaters with the following assessments and medals:
STAR 2 Girls – Halle McHeffey silver; STAR 3 Girls – Teigan Turner silver, Megan Bloemhard gold, Isabella Jones silver; STAR 4 Girls U13 – Alice Clements fourth, Lucy Watson gold medal; STAR 5 Men – John Mailey bronze medal, Cooper Jones gold medal; and STAR 5 Provincial Champion, Adult Bronze Class 3 – Shannon McLean silver medal.
The Sunshine Coast Skating Club is very proud of all of the skaters and is looking forward to having the public see them perform along with guest skaters Beres Clements and Olympian athlete Larkyn Austman this Saturday, March 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gibsons and Area Community Centre Arena.
