With the Christmas break in the books, high school basketball teams are back in the gym.
The Chat bantam boys sit with a record of 0-2 starting play this month. Chat lost 29-28 to St. Thomas Aquinas (STA) on Dec. 7 and 36-21 to Seycove on Dec. 14. Chat was slated to host Argyle on Wednesday. Results were not available at press time. Chat plays Sentinel next Monday and plays host to Mulgrave on Jan. 11 at 3 p.m.
The Chat junior boys are off to a good start with two wins under their belts. Chat beat Elphi 42-30 on Dec. 13 and edged Rockridge 51-48 on Dec. 15. Chat visits Argyle today (Jan. 6).
The Elphi junior boys are 0-2 after the loss to Chat and a 79-28 defeat to Argyle. Elphi is on the road this week with a game against Handsworth.
The Elphi senior boys have had a rough go so far this season with a 0-6 start. Elphi latest defeat was a 94-33 setback to STA on Tuesday night.
The Chat junior girls are 0-2 after December loses to Don Ross and West Vancouver. Chat played Seycove on Thursday past deadline.
The Chat senior girls sport a record of 1-2. The squad resumes play next Thursday against Sutherland. The Elphi senior girls have played only one game, which was an 87-54 loss to Sutherland.
