The spirit of J.S. Woodsworth, co-founder of the NDP precursor CCF, walked again last Saturday in the heritage home of Stonehurst in Gibsons where he and his family had lived in 1917. The house that dates from 1912 is also known as the Doc Inglis house because the Coast’s first doctor held his clinic there.
The doctor and his family were also present on Saturday – at least in spirit – to perform a slice of local history.
The Stonehurst Salon event was in support of incumbent MLA Nicholas Simons, NDP, who gave a cello concert to the many supporters who also enjoyed hearty early 20th century fare from chef Doug Davis.
