Woman assaulted in Sechelt Nov. 19, four people facing aggravated assault charges

Sunshine Coast RCMP confirmed that four Sechelt residents have been arrested and are facing charges of aggravated assault with a weapon related to an attack on a female that occurred in that municipality on Nov 19, at about 10:30pm.

Sunshine Coast RCMP confirmed that four Sechelt residents have been arrested and are facing charges of aggravated assault with a weapon related to an attack on a female that occurred in the municipality on Nov. 19, at about 10:30 p.m. 

In a news release dated Nov. 28, detachment media relations officer, Karen Whitby detailed that the victim was able to flee the scene after she was assaulted by several people known to her. The assault is believed to have occurred due to a personal conflict between the victim and her assailants and was a targeted incident, said the release. 

The victim was transported to Sechelt hospital and is recovering from her injuries, said the release. The investigation is ongoing and Whitby stated that police will not be releasing any further information at this time.
