At approximately 2 a.m. June 1, suspects attempted to break into a business in the 5500 block of Wharf Road in Sechelt by using a rock to smash a side glass door. When that didn't work, they tried a second glass door and managed to gain entry. The thieves stole an undisclosed amount of food.

A possible impaired driver was reported after a vehicle on Highway 101 near Flume Road was reported weaving all over the road and into the oncoming lane. The caller provided a licence plate, vehicle description and direction of travel. A police officer located the suspect vehicle and pulled it over. The driver denied consuming alcohol and there was no evidence he was impaired. However, the driver did admit to eating fried chicken while driving.

On May 29th, thieves uprooted and stole two young maple trees from the 5500 block of McCourt Road in Sechelt. The stolen trees were between eight and 10 feet tall. The thieves unsuccessfully attempted to steal another two trees from the same area, but only managed to damage them in the process.

On June 1, a hit and run was reported in the 1100 block of Highway 101 after a vehicle owner came back to her car and discovered significant damage to the driver's side. The owner had noted a white RV parked next to her earlier, but there was no note left behind by that driver. Police will be reviewing video surveillance from a nearby business for possible leads.

A two-vehicle accident occurred on Gibsons Way near Pratt Road after a vehicle stopped suddenly to make a left hand turn off the road. The first vehicle behind that car had to brake suddenly, but a second vehicle was unable to stop in time and rear-ended in front of it. Neither driver was injured, but both vehicles did sustain damage. The matter has been referred to ICBC.

While conducting patrols in downtown Sechelt, a police officer noticed a vehicle driving back and forth along the same streets, so he decided to do a routine check. It turned out the driver was a disqualified driver as well as a vehicle impound candidate. The vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

Early on June 5, a resident in the 400 block of South Fletcher Road in Gibsons was awakened by the sounds of breaking glass in his driveway. The resident discovered vandals had smashed the driver's side mirror off his vehicle. A neighbour advised that he had chased a group of teens off his property on Aldersprings Road, but could only describe them as teens, some carrying longboards and wearing dark hoodies.

A series of mischief complaints were reported early on June 5 from the West Sechelt area along Emerson Road and Norwest Bay Road. Garbage cans, fence panels and signs were damaged, and about 10 young trees were damaged or broken along Norwest Bay Road. Neighbours witnessed a group of four male youth kicking in a fence, but no further descriptions were taken. A two-vehicle accident occurred in the 13200 block of Highway 101 after a northbound vehicle swerved left to avoid rear-ending a vehicle stopped to make a left turn. The northbound vehicle ended up in the southbound ditch, but in the process, got struck by a southbound vehicle. The southbound vehicle sustained enough damage to require towing. The driver of the northbound vehicle admitted to being at fault and was issued a violation ticket.

Early on June 6, a resident in the 600 block of Gower Point Road in Gibsons was awakened by the sound of a rock being thrown at a front window. The resident went out to investigate and discovered a window on his vehicle also smashed, the vehicle severely keyed, and the front of the house egged. The resident had come out in time to see four young males, possibly in their early 20s, running from the area and jump into a waiting car. Anyone with any information about this vandalism is asked to contact RCMP, reference file 10-4081.
