The Sechelt Downtown Business Association (SDBA) and its members collected sweaters, coats, jackets, hats and other items of warm clothing for those in need on the Sunshine Coast as part of Turn Down the Heat Week.
From left: SDBA first vice president Alton Toth, president Katharine Trueman, helper Sara Margueratt, SDBA administrator/ambassador Matt McLean, Salvation Army family services coordinator Matthew Hardman and 2016 kettle coordinator Inge Hardman packed up 753 donated items at the Trail Bay Mall and presented them to the Salvation Army on Oct. 29. This is considerably more than last year when 568 items were collected.
