Trustee Dave Mewhort received a certificate of recognition from the BC School Trustee Association on June 13 for serving seven terms at School District No. 46.
Mewhort was first elected to the Board in 1985 and has chaired several committees, including Bargaining, Policy and Transportation, and he has served as vice chair of the Board of Education as well as BC Public School Employers’ Association representative.
He has also worked as a social worker in Sechelt and Director of the Wilson Creek Family Centre. Mewhort has a BA in Mathematics and an HBA in Mathematics and Sociology.
